I feel what needs to be said about this year has already been said. You hear it every day – on TV, the internet, friends and family. I hope you’re well.
I’m writing this under an exorbitant amount of stress. A milestone (the big one) was reached; I engineered a popular game recreation – three times (four soon, perhaps); in April, I made pigs dance to music – millions of people liked that. And I’ve met many fantastic people along the way, more so than any other year. Probably my favourite thing.
Others would shout, “You’re so lucky, man. I wish I could be in your shoes.”
“How do you come up with ideas like this?”
Then, there’s the other end of it, where you feel the pressure of a thousand eyes. Sometimes more. Actually, oftentimes more.
And you deliberately seek the courage, time, and effort to impress them without any forethought or concern for yourself. And it’s a drug, so you want more of it.
And when it peaks, you feel nothing.
Perspective is a quirky thing. I’m not tired – just lacking something in life. It’s normal to feel this way. I know. But I know what I need to do.
I’m so, so fortunate to have you all here with me. The year has been a rollercoaster. Not just for me, but for everyone. You deserve all the good that comes your way.
I’m writing this under some discomfort. This is temporary.
Things will change next year. I’m sitting with nervous excitement.
